The Netherlands has Europe's highest cycling levels and is criss-crossed by safe and interesting touring routes. These LF routes also extend into Belgian Flanders and further south Belgian Wallonia boasts some high quality traffic routes in the from of the RAVeL network which let you explore the gloriously wooded Ardennes. Luxembourg is ideal for thos who want to combine short distances yet see an entire country at the same time.

Germany is criss-crossed by a plethora of signed cycle routes so much so you'll be spoilt for choice. Generally with high quality surfaces and away from busy traffic, they contain some classic river routes; the Elbe, Rhine and Oder / Neisse are just a handfuil of examples.
Austria and Switzerland must be premier destination for those wanting to explore Alpine scenery on two wheels on well-signed routes, often along valleys such as the Drau, Inn and Danube where gradients are easy.
